Ok, der letzte Artikel zu Kapstadt, ich verspreche es.
Erstmals auf allen unseren Reisen haben wir uns in einen Hop-on, Hop-Off Sightseeing Bus gewagt. Man mag dies als Socken-mit-Sandalen-Träger-Verhalten bezeichnen, war aber im Endeffekt eine sehr interessante Sache. Als Transportmittel und dank des Audio-Guides auch als Reiseführer.
Eine weitere spannende Sache sind die „Free Walking Tours“. Im Endeffekt zwar nicht ganz „free“, weil ein Trinkgeld wird schon erwartet, aber ebenfalls zu empfehlen. Wir haben die District 6 und die Bo-Kaap Tour gemacht.
Auch in Townships gibt es Touren, die werden aber von den Bewohnern direkt durchgeführt. Der Lebensstandard in dem von uns besuchten Township war anders als vorgestellt. So hatten zwar viele Leute Fernseher, Waschmaschinen und sogar Geschirrspüler in ihren Hütten, ein WC oder Bad waren aufgrund der beengten Verhältnisse aber eher selten.
CAPE TOWN – THE REMAINING PART
Alright, the last post about Cape Town, I promise.
For the first time in all our travels we dared to take a hop-on, hop-off sightseeing bus. You might call this sandals-with-socks behavior, but actually it was quite an interesting experience. As a means of transport and thanks to the audio guide also as a tourist guide.
Another exciting thing were the “Free Walking Tours”. In the end not that “free”, because a tip is expected, but definitely a recommendation. We did the District 6 and the Bo-Kaap tours.
There are also tours in the townships, those are guided by the local population. The standard of living in the one we visited was quite unexpected. While most people had TVs, washing machines and even dishwashers in their huts, a toilet or bathroom was rather rare due to the small space available.
