Vergangenen Sonntag fand in Kampala ein Ultimate Frisbee Mini-Turnier statt, an dem vier Teams teilnahmen – auch unser Team aus Gulu. Insgesamt schafften wir es, sieben Spieler und mich nach Kampala zu bringen, wir mussten uns daher nur noch eine bzw. zwei Frauen ausborgen (es wurde mit zwei Frauen am Feld gespielt und ein bisschen Pause braucht frau ja auch). Zu Beginn taten wir uns etwas schwer, vor allem auch, weil unsere Zusatzspielerinnen darauf bestanden, Formationen zu spielen, die wir davor zu wenig geübt hatten. So setzte es im ersten Spiel gegen Kampala A eine herbe Niederlage für uns. Doch wir wurden von Spiel zu Spiel besser und schafften es auch, mit „Gulu-Style“ einige Punkte zu erzielen. Im Spiel um den dritten Platz, erneut gegen Kampala A, wurde es daher auch knapper und wir unterlagen schließlich nur mit 8:12. Es war auf jeden Fall eine Erfahrung für uns alle – bis auf Innocent war es das erste Turnier für alle – und wir konnten neben neuen Spielzügen auch Frisbees und Traingsshirts nach Gulu mitnehmen. Last Sunday there was an Ultimate Frisbee mini tournament in Kampala, with four teams participating – also our team from Gulu. We managed to bring a total of seven male players and me to Kampala, so we had to borrow only one, or rather two women (we played with two women at a time and you also want to have a little break). The beginning was tough, especially also because our additional players wanted to run some formations we had hardly practiced before going there. As a result, the first game against Kampala A ended with a bitter defeat for us. But we improved every game and also managed to score using “Gulu style”. The game for the third place, once again against Kampala A, was therefore a lot tougher and we only lost 8:12 in the end. It was definitely an experience for all of us – with the exception of Innocent it was the first tournament for everyone – and we were able to take not only new moves but disks and practice shirts back to Gulu. Thanks to the club in Kampala for organizing!
